Lipizzaners are a breed of horses known for their distinctive white coats and impressive strength, agility, and intelligence. Originating from the Lipica Stud Farm in Slovenia, they are famous for their role in classical dressage and are often seen in performances showcasing advanced equestrian skills. These horses are particularly recognized for their ability to perform high-level movements like the "capriole," seen in the painting, when the horse jumps high in the air and kicks with its hind legs.
This painting includes another detail from Slovenian cultural heritage: the Idrija lace, known for its intricate patterns and delicate handcrafting techniques. Here, it is used as a background for a stunning Lipizzaner stallion.
