The image of horses captured in a tight cell, asserting their own inner hierarchy, is created with acrylic and oil paints and silkscreen on canvas.
 
The original photography project included various riding, cart, and slaughter horses assembled within an outdoor studio. The selected imagery was then translated into the medium of artistic silkscreens. This particular piece was first made in a small format and later executed in a larger version with acrylic, oil paint, and silkscreen on canvas.
 
The work process is deliberately made visible through the use of a larger number of screens, and the paint is applied in a way that spills through the screen, creating an old "poor reception" television-like effect along with the vignetted edge of the image.
