Admirala is a portrait of a cow from the artist's family farm. Ješe has spent a great deal of time with cows and bulls, getting to know them well. She also named them, as they had no names before she began painting them. This particular cow was calm but not very friendly. She was the mother of Jago, the young bull calf depicted in a colorful, expressionistic painting from this portfolio.
For this portrait, the artist used a combination of materials—oil on canvas and embroidery—sewn onto the surface and cut to flow around the bird and cow subjects. This transforms the piece into a three-dimensional assemblage, featuring a genuine parrot taxidermy mounted on the canvas, giving the illusion that one of the subjects has 'escaped' from the painting’s surface.
